Sokol Spirit Program Descriptions

2017-2018 Season

 

Sokol Spirit offers programs for ages 3 and through adulthood.  Our 2017-2018 Class Schedule includes two types of youth classes.  We offer our traditional Sokol Fitness class and a Gymnastics Team Program.  Here are the details about these programs:

 

 

Traditional Sokol Fitness Classes

 

Tots Class – Mondays from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.

This class is for boys and girls in Preschool and Kindergarten.  Parents are encouraged, but not required, to stay for this class and even join in once in a while.  Class will feature but not be limited to: Introduction to Gymnastics; Calisthenics; and Motor Coordination Games/Activities.

Session: January 9-End of May          $180 enrollment (includes new member fee)

 

Girls Fitness Class – Mondays from 6:30-8 p.m.

This class is a great place for girls (Grades 1-6) to participate in activities that promote strength, agility and athletic ability.  Class will feature but not be limited to: Beginner to intermediate level gymnastics; Calisthenics; Performance routines with dance/gymnastic elements; and recreational sports.

 

Boys Fitness Class – Tuesdays from 6:00-7:30 p.m.

This class is a great place for boys (Grades 1-6) to participate in activities that promote strength, agility and athletic ability.  The class will be split in to age groups depending on class sizes and activity. Class will feature but not be limited to: Recreational sports and games; Beginner to intermediate level gymnastics; Fitness Activities; and Calisthenics.

 

Junior Girls – Mondays from 8-9 p.m. and for Co-Ed Class Thursday 8-9 p.m.

For girls in grades 7 through High School.  This class provides participants with fitness activities, social activities and leadership development.  In addition to class activities our Juniors participate in a social group that fundraises to fund group outings, socials and a year-end trip to a national Sokol gathering each year. Class will feature but not be limited to: Beginner to intermediate level gymnastics; Rhythmic Gymnastics; Calisthenics; Performance routines with dance/gymnastic elements; volleyball and other recreational sports.

 

Junior Boys – Tuesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and for Co-Ed Class Thursday 8-9 p.m.

For boys in grades 7 through High School.  This class provides participants with sports/fitness activities, social activities and leadership development.  In addition to class activities our Juniors participate in a social group that fundraises to fund group outings, socials and a year-end trip to a national Sokol gathering each year. Class will feature but not be limited to: Volleyball and other recreational sports/games; Beginner to intermediate level gymnastics; Calisthenics; Performance routines with fitness/gymnastic elements.

 

Womens’ Class – Monday and Thursday nights from 9-10:15 p.m.

Our Womens’ Class is for adults ages 18+ looking for fitness program in a social environment.  Participants take part in various fitness activities throughout the year and many gather after (and outside of) class to socialize.  Class will feature but not be limited to: Aerobics; Recreational Volleyball and games; Calisthenics; Performance routines with dance/marching elements. (Optional: Beginner to intermediate level gymnastics)

 

Mens’ Club – Tuesday  and Friday nights from 8:00-9:00 p.m.

Our Mens’ Club is for adults ages 18+ looking for fitness program in a social environment.  Participants take part in various recreational sports and fitness activities throughout the year and many gather after (and outside of) class to socialize.  Our schedule includes league volleyball on Friday Nights through December. Class will feature but not be limited to: Recreational/competitive Volleyball league; various sports and games; Calisthenics.

 

Senior A.M. Class – Tuesday mornings (9:30-11:15 p.m.)

Are you a Senior, a.k.a. LONG-TIMER, who should be doing a little light exercise that’s FUN?  Our Senior A.M. Class is on Tuesday mornings for adults looking for fitness program in a social environment.  In this class you will exercise at a moderate pace, rest if tired, but you likely go home energized.  Class will feature but not be limited to: Walking; Stretching; Lite cardio; Games; Calisthenics.
